Measuring the mountains, one trail at a time
Have you ever finished a run with your friend and compared GPS stats, only to find inconsistent distances or elevation gain? Have you ever done a race expecting an aid station at kilometer 10, only to find it several kilometers further?
This happens because most trails and races are not measured with a standardized method. That creates confusion, unfair results, and sometimes even safety risks.
We designed a scientific certification process to ensure that every certified course meets three core principles:
Level | Description |
---|---|
Bronze | Remote GIS validation. Anyone can submit a GPX file. We verify it against known standards. |
Silver | Field measurement using a validated device with a verified Metric Score. |
Gold | Measurement by a certified Metric Trails measurer, following official protocol. |
Olympic | Gold + post-processing with high-resolution DEM or LiDAR elevation data. |
